The mayor moved Development counselor's motion plenary on the operating expenses of Estacio bridge (15/10/2014)

The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez Pastor met yesterday in Murcia with the Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Manuel Campos who moved the contents of the motion approved by all local groups in the plenary session on 9 October in which the regional government are urged to cooperate financially to the costs of opening, maintaining and closing of El Estacio bridge in La Manga del Mar Menor.

The director, Manuel Campos promised to study the proposal according to the mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez reported at the end of the meeting.

The bascule bridge Estacio, was built by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia with an investment of 9 million euros and is the only way for ships to the Mediterranean from the Mar Menor.

Opening, closing and maintenance costing around 120,000 per year for the City of San Javier, which assumes alone since its opening in 2003.

Juan Martinez, also moved another motion of plenary on the airport of San Javier in which the regional government requested that the possibility of the coexistence of the two airports is studied and an inexorable end to the employment of workers is ensured and military activity is enhanced in order to make efficient use of the facilities.

During the meeting, institutional, also spoke of the walkway is planned to install in the north of La Manga that would be linked by pedestrian with Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar.

The forecasts in this sense, that can be done next year, while the project is under feasibility study by the University of Murcia, reminded the mayor of San Javier.
