Spain Square will be renovated in order to "humanize" this great public space that still has the capacity to host large events.
Increasing shade, landscaped areas, new benches, and a playground for younger children, are the outlines of the remodeling which bid price is 350,000 euros.
The works will involve a complete remodeling of existing gardens and fountains that will be substituted achieving greater shaded area with flower beds able to accommodate more vegetation to cool the space with species whose roots allow the necessary isolation of underground parking.
More banks and more gardens in the spaces of sources contribute to change the view of the front of the church of San Francisco Javier, and provide a nicer area for the city, with new lighting that enhances the vegetation.
In order to provide this great space more shaded areas, there will be another parallel to the facade of buildings opposite the church pergola.
Younger also have their place in this "new" Plaza of Spain, with a games area provided under the rubber floor awnings provide shade shaped sail boating.
The Utilities Councilman Jose Miguel Luengo recalled that the remodeling of the Plaza of Spain are the last to come out to contest the fifteen works that were budgeted about 2.5 billion euros from the surplus in the accounts of the past year, all of them motivated in improving pavements and street lighting throughout the municipality.
All planned works will be completed in spring 2015.
