The "Birth" Bru Rovira exhibition serve to reflect on other realities through the universal mother-child bond (06/11/2014)

Councillor for Social Services, Frances Naranjo and his department coordinator, Alicia Balsalobre presented this morning the exhibition "Birth," in which photographer Bru Rovira

portrays different scenes from different countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, united by the universal bond between mother and child.

The exhibition can be viewed until November 30, from 09:00 to 14: 0h.

in the amphitheater building the Department of Youth, in Spanish Aviation Avenue, is part of the International Cooperation Program of Fundación "la Caixa" and arrives in San Javier on the occasion of the celebration of Universal Children's Day on November 20 through the Center for Social Services.

The photo exhibition, full of "sensitivity, beauty and tenderness" includes a narrative about the reality of each image Balsalobre Alicia explained adding that his goal is to raise awareness and a special children about the problem so social exclusion and poverty that stalks children and families around the world.

The mayor, Frances Naranjo added that the exhibition, along with educational materials on it, all schools will be offered to complement classroom visit to the exhibition, with the purpose of showing children that there is another reality which sometimes is not so far away.

Photographer and journalist Bru Rovira, who holds the Ortega y Gasset Prize, shows in this traveling exhibition, pictures of his travels in different countries and cultures in adverse situations such as war, disease, poverty, natural disasters and prisons, among other , capturing only motherhood as a relationship in which one excels the beauty and love.

In the words of Bru Rovira, "the relationship between a mother and her child belongs to this intangible, private and intimate universe capable of surviving any situation things go badly."

The exhibition is part of a city program around Children's Day, including a drawing competition organized in collaboration with Federation of Parents of Pupils in which the youngest to draw their dreams is requested, and will be developed in schools, culminating in a joint awards ceremony.

Also a special act of reading the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child will be convened.
