The regional head of UPyD, Fuensanta Maximum and Councilman UPyD in the city of Murcia, José Antonio Sotomayor, have held a meeting this afternoon with a representation of the Platform in Defense of Public San Javier Airport representing 1,200 employees - 450 directos-.
In this sense, magenta formation during the meeting reiterated its "solidarity and support" with workers from the international airport, as well as concerned and expressed his concern over the situation and uncertainty about their future careers.
Similarly, Fuensanta Max has criticized the lack of coordination and communication between central and regional administrations, governed by PSOE and PP in times of construction "allowing an economic waste of this magnitude," with such important investments like the 200 million euros guaranteed by the regional government.
He also insisted on the "big mistake" to project both airports, being aware of the proximity between both and assuming "a real blunder, a disregard for common sense and citizens and a waste of public money".
Now we are faced "huge uncertainty for the future of San Javier of its management and direct and indirect workers".
For its part, the Platform in Defense of Public San Javier Airport has indicated that at present the international airport is operating at only 35% capacity and "remains profitable", contradicting the primary reason that the regional government "want closure," and the creation of the new Corvera airport.
They also consider that if Corvera is a private scheme, "he continued thus keeping but not public money intended for him."
