The regional president, Alberto Garre claimed yesterday in San Javier figure higher because "they are an example for society, especially in times of difficulties."
Garre said that "many older are the support of families are suffering, so he expressed his thanks on behalf of all Murcia".
He expressed the duty of the government to guarantee pensions and welfare of the elderly.
Alberto Garre attended yesterday in San Javier to sign Sociocultural 17 senior centers IMAS, accompanied by the Mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez, the Minister of Health, Catalina Lorenzo, director of IMAS, Leopoldo Navarro, and other authorities who shared with about 800 people an evening of entertainment and thanks.
The President himself, the Minister of Health and Social Policy and the mayor of San Javier were responsible for delivering a commemorative gift to the 17 presidents of Social Centres participants, coming from different parts of the Region.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez and the Minister Catalina Lorenzo were in charge of the tent city received participants in the sample.
They both highlighted the social role of the elderly, and the importance of maintaining an enriching activity as a way of improving their quality of life, target of over 300 different workshops that have been held in the 17 Senior Centers.
The performances of the afternoon, offered four centers: Murcia II with Coral;
San Javier, with an exhibition called "Harmony and Balance" of geriatric psychomotor activity;
Las Torres de Cotillas with his group of regional dances;
and Yecla with your group sevillanas.
