The Community unfold a link to the AP-7 with the roundabout Dos Mares, and improve the road to El Mirador San Cayetano (10/02/2015)

The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning carry out the refurbishment of the crossing between El Mirador and San Cayetano and the widening of the stretch of road between the AP-7 motorway and the roundabout Dos Mares, in the municipality San Javier during the year.

This was announced by the mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez and adviser, Francisco Barnabas in San Javier where they held a working meeting which was also attended by the Director General of Highways, José Antonio Guijarro and Council of Public Services, José Miguel Luengo ;

Planning and Environment, Antonio Luengo, and Tourism and Beaches, Antonio Martinez.

Juan Martinez noted that these are two ancient claims to improve the road to El Mirador, which supports a large volume of general traffic and heavy vehicle that generates the important agricultural sector in the area.

The splitting of the section of the AP-7 to the roundabout that distributes traffic to San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera and San Pedro del Pinatar, plus a mall, avoid traffic jams common in that stretch, especially in the summertime.

The Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas promised "great care from the Ministry to support and help San Javier to meet their just demands."

The Minister, Francisco Barnabas expressed his commitment to "promote and accelerate everything possible" other matters relating to his department as the General Urban Plan of San Javier in response to new reports requested by the City to continue processing.

The mayor of San Javier, explained in relation to the General Plan, which is intended, after his recent provisional approval, collect all new reports requested by the various agencies and meet new claims submitted to final adoption as soon as possible.

During the meeting other issues such as access to new regional hospital from the highway of Murcia, with a link to the height of Pozo Aledo, which is under study were also addressed.

It is also being studied the pedestrian walkway on the north end of La Manga.

The University of Murcia prepared a feasibility study that will be announced in mid-March.

The improvement of public transport was also on the table.

The mayor highlighted the problems in areas such as La Manga and especially in winter so it works to improve and that residents can enjoy a good service all round.
