A total of 345 students from 3rd of ESO institutes "Fulgencio Ruiz", "Mar Menor" and "Sacred Heart" of San Javier, and 25 students sociocommunity integration Aidemar have gone through the workshop on Sustainable Consumption which has developed for the third consecutive year the Department of Consumption of the City of San Javier, institutes of the municipality.
Councillor for Social Services and Consumer Francisca Naranjo attended last Friday at the IES "Mar Menor", the last of the workshops were taught in schools, during school hours, offered by a coach Jose Martinez and in the presence guardian of each class which continues the work being done with each of the groups over 3 sessions.
Naranjo highlighted the excellent reception centers have this workshop and the importance of affect, among young people, the importance of sustainable consumption as a way to combat environmental degradation.
José Martínez explained that the workshop addresses the impact of consumption on the environment and, therefore, the importance of a consumer with sustainability criteria integrated into the daily life of each.
"Young people respond well and ask alternatives and initiatives to adopt in order to contribute to improving their daily life environmental issues," says José Martínez.
In the third block of the workshop are given specific guidelines and practices for students to develop their own initiatives for sustainable consumption.
The head teacher of the IES "Mar Menor" Eugenia Delso highlighted the opportunity of this type of initiatives "that affect the education of students from another perspective".
Also thanked the project that "facilitates the transfer between society and the centers should be open to the outside".
