The Town Planning and Environment, Antonio Luengo and Public Services, José Miguel Luengo collected today from the director of the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Martinez, energy audits that were conducted earlier this year, after the signing of a cooperation agreement between the City of San Javier and INFO to study improvements in energy saving and efficiency in public buildings in the municipality.
The audits were carried out at the sports center and municipal pool Hall and five schools: "Joaquín Carrión", "Peace", "Severo Ochoa", "Fulgencio Ruiz" and "Our Lady of Loreto".
These documents contain proposals for savings, some of which have already been adopted, which will be studied to develop an action plan in order to optimize energy savings.
This action is in brand in the ELENA-FUENSANTA European project, and allows the Council to reduce fuel consumption and emissions into the atmosphere, leading to the reduction of CO2 emissions by at least 20% by 2020, commitment made by the City of San Javier with the accession to the Covenant of Mayors.
