The municipality of San Javier premieres this summer two new blue flags on the beaches Barnuevo of Santiago de la Ribera, and the Pedruchillo in La Manga del Mar Menor in addition to the other three, Castillico, Columbus and Mistral have renewed quality mark awarded each year by the Foundation for Environmental Education.
The five beaches where the blue flag will wave also have the certification "Q" Tourist Quality awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE).
The Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Antonio Martinez Torrecillas stressed the importance of these distinctions represent a technical survey of the work done by the City Council of San Javier to continue improving day by day our beaches and placed on the map of the best beaches in Spain .
Torrecillas Martinez said also that both the blue flags as the "Q" Quality Tourism is a guarantee that our beaches not only meet the environmental parameters but also services, security, accessibility and quality of both the water and beach environment.
The mayor of Tourism reiterated the municipal commitment to tourism of sun and beach for which we are already an established destination so these certifications, national and international, are especially important.
Antonio Martinez added that the municipal commitment also includes a powerful cultural, entertainment and sporting complementary services that improve our position.
Martinez Torrecillas pointed out that other beaches of the municipality are subject to the same exacting standards of quality but have not yet been certified so it will continue to expand the number of applications for, like this year, increasing the number of official awards.
