The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Sports, Carlos Albaladejo received today at City Hall to young swimmer San Javier, Carmen San Nicolas which welcomed his recent sports you manage in the Championship of Spain played 8 to 12 July in Barcelona where he won two gold medals and 2 silver, and the European Games in Baku where he played two finals representing Spain.
José Miguel Luengo highlighted the efforts and successes achieved by this young 16 year old swimmer who started swimming at the municipal pool.
"Something is doing well in the sport when Carmen San Javier San Nicolas, and other young people like Lorenzo Albaladejo or David Zapata, among others, are getting tremendous achievements."
Both the mayor and the councilman of Sports were interested in the details of training and the most recent competitions Carmen San Nicolas passionately recounting what it means to participate in a European final representing Spain.
Both congratulated the young swimmer who pointed to as an example for other young people and a pride for the city.
Carmen San Nicolas participated in the I European Games played last June in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he managed to place in the 100m final book, in which he was 7th, and the final relay 4x200 in which were in 6th position.
In Spain Championship, played in Barcelona from 8 to 12 this July, he managed two gold medals in 50 and 100 freestyle, and two silver medals in 200 and 100 backstroke.
In the three years that Carmen San Nicolas takes the high competition in its ranking of medals including 10 gold medals, 12 silver and 4 bronze.
His next goal is to re-qualify for upcoming European Games, through the Winter Championship Spain.
