San Javier today celebrated the World Alzheimer's Day formalizing the municipal transfer of a seat to the Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer, AFAL in Santiago de la Ribera which will avoid travel to Cartagena patients and relatives of the municipality to receive therapeutic services to improve their quality of life.
Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa, accompanied by the president of AFAL, Pedro Antonio Arroyo visited this morning the facilities that consist of a large therapy room with a terrace for outdoor activities and living Physiotherapy located on the first floor of the municipal Senior Center of Santiago de la Ribera.
Pedro Antonio Arroyo thanked the collaboration of the Department of Social Services, through the assignment of a local, so we can offer our services in this area, including San Javier, San Javier and Los Alcázares, where there are currently diagnosed between 150 and 200 people with Alzheimer's and degenerative dementia.

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo praised the work "that guarantees the social function AFAL, both with people who have the disease and their family members who also serve as great support."
Luengo emphasized the coincidence of this action with the World Alzheimer's Day and after the hundred days of this government "committed to improving and increasing services for our seniors."
The use of the facilities will be shared, with different hours throughout the week, with the Association of people suffering from Parkinson service offered physiotherapy, neuropsychological and advice to people affected by the disease, of San Javier and the region of the Sea Menor.
