Prodigy saxophonist James Carter leading the way to becoming one of the great musicians of his debut century at the Festival de Jazz de San Javier, the only concert in Spain, with his quintet featuring his superb last album "Present Tense."

On the second evening concert Cuban guitarist and composer based in Miami, Rene Toledo, a regular contributor of many of the greats of jazz, and considered, along with Luis Salinas, one of the best guitarists in Latin America, closed the evening with a special guest, Montse Cortes, one of the divas of today's flamenco.

James Carter has earned the praise fiercest since it appeared in the New York jazz scene from his native Detroit.

His absolute mastery of wind instruments comprising the tenor saxophone, soprano and baritone, and flute and bass clarinet, stunned from the first moment to the criticism that has come to characterize as "modern sax god."

One of the first to appreciate his virtuosity was Wynton Marsalis himself that drafted him with only 17 years.Also played with Lester Bowie's band, and the prestigious Mingus Big Band.

His debut with the Japanese label Owl, "JC on the Set", recorded at 23 years was critically acclaimed and which established him in the mid 90's with "Jurassic Classics."

If in concert goes from classical to jazz avant-garde, even in the same interpretation, also in his discography shows his interest in various proposals jazz, from a collection of standards in "conversion 'with the Elders, the electric funk in "Layin 'in the Cut", or pay homage to Django Reinhardt, in "Chasin the Gypsy", recorded with his cousin, the brilliant violinist Regina Carter.

Despite his intense activity as leader of his own training, whether quintet, power group, or trio, James Carter has continued to record or play live with artists such as Cyrus Chestnut, Rodney Whitaker, Madeleine Peyroux, The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and The Charles Mingus Big Band, among others.

In the San Javier Jazz concert will be accompanied by Dwight Adams, trumpet, Gerard Gibbs, piano, Leonard King, drums, and Ralph Armstrong, bass.

Rene Toledo, also a renowned guitarist, composer and arranger is a success, studied in Cuba, where it could not deepen their preference for jazz guitar, so after going through a couple of groups, one with Nicholas Reynolds and Tony Valdes, "Afro Cuba", which fused jazz with Afro-Cuban roots, he emigrated to the United States.

He developed his professional career become a musician and music producer for international recognition, as requested by artists as diverse as Gloria Estefan, and Shakira, for whose productions won two Grammy its premises, which she completed with another party as a guest artist in CD "Danzon" by Arturo Sandoval.

In addition to hundreds of top artists of different styles such as jazz musician has recorded and work, among others, Jane Monheit, Paquito d'Rivera, Ivan Lins, Chick Corea, and Dave Weckl, among others.

Montse Cortes is one of the most important voices of flamenco which has earned a place of honor after a long career that started with 14.

She has sung in the company of Antonio Canales, for 9 years, then did for Sara Baras.

So did with Miguel Poveda, Tomatito, and guitarist John Bean. Paco de Lucía opens his latest album "Cositas good" with a bulería Montse Cortés.

Has recorded two solo albums, most recently "The White Rose", with producer Paco de Lucia, or Luz Casal, among others, and with the collaboration of Child Josele, Tomatito and Potito.

Rene Toledo Montse Cortes agreed in Cordoba Flamenco show Divas of the young singer is part of the show "Wonderful Sinatra."

René guitar and accompanied Toledo Montse Cortes in his wonderful version of "Summertime."

With that precedent is presented in the Festival de Jazz de San Javier.
