About 50 boats will accompany the Virgen del Carmen in the maritime procession on Sunday in Santiago de la Ribera (18/07/2008)

Like every year, the Sunday after the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, Santiago de la Ribera celebrates its maritime procession with the image of the Virgin and over 50 vessels that will accompany next Sunday 20 July.

The procession of boats will depart at 09.30 h.

from the jetty at the beach to Lo Pagán Barnuevo to return to Santiago de la Ribera.

Halfway up to the Hospital Los Arcos, will pray a prayer and throw carnations into the sea in memory of deceased fishermen.

Upon arrival of the procession, on 12.30 h, will be held at the Market, the beach Barnuevo, the tribute to the Fisherman of the Year, which this time will receive Luis Mercader Cavas, a retired fisherman Santiago de la Ribera.

The procession of boats takes place within the festival program of Santiago de la Ribera, that by Sunday July 20 proposing a night of dancing with the orchestra of San Javier "Return", with music from the 60 to 80, starting at 22.00.
