The municipality of San Javier collaborates once again with the humanitarian project "En Ruta Solidaria", whose development contributes to a financial contribution as explained this morning by the acting mayor, José Angel Noguera which together with the councilman of Social Services, M ª Chum Angeles has assisted in the General Air Academy, the presentation of this initiative which is celebrated for the third year running and aims to transfer and hand delivery of medical, nutritional and educational support to different entities in Mauritania.

The Air Force commander and pilot of the Eagle Acrobatic Patrol, Michael Gates, who belongs to the Sports Association Rutamotor, promoter and organizer of the project, explained that the main objective of this initiative is to improve living conditions in slums of Nouakchott, capital of Mauritania.

With the help of 40 sponsors and solidarity of the people have managed to collect several tons of medical supplies, nutritional and educational, that they move in a 15-day trip to Mauritania, as Gates explained during a presentation at a ceremony chaired by Colonel Rubén Carlos García Servert.

In addition to the delivery of material as four pallets of school supplies, medical supplies and 15 tons of food, this edition will also take 20 sewing machines, yarn and fabrics for the implementation of a sewing workshop, contributing to job training for women and obtaining resources by selling their own products.

Furthermore, as novelty will evaluate the use and performance of the material delivered last year to better define the real needs and improve the content of future deliveries, as explained Gates.

The "En Ruta Solidaria", appeared in 2006 at the initiative of the group Rutamotor Adventure Sports, whose members, mostly military and civilian personnel of the General Air Academy, knowledgeable Mauritania for their participation in the Dakar Rally from 2003.

They had the opportunity to know the real situation and contact with professional associations and transmitted them the precariousness of their resources to help the disadvantaged, so they decided to launch this initiative.
