The first 50 bikes municipal loan service will be ready in December (10/10/2008)

The Department of Tourism will launch a free bike loan that will be available to users in early December and will, in a first phase, 5-point loan with 10 bikes each, located at different points the municipality, as reported by the Councillor for Tourism, Jesus Montesinos.

Two of these points of loan will serve users of the ferry between Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga, which may take a bicycle on arrival at both La Manga (on the beach Mistral) and La Ribera (on the esplanade Barnuevo) .

The other three points will be located in Roda loans, Santiago de la Ribera, near the Faculty of Sports Science, in San Javier with the Department of Youth.

To access one of the 50 bikes distributed in different points of the loan, the user must have previously passed by any municipal building where you can register in the system just by providing their personal data once you start the service .

With the password obtained at the time you only need to send a sms from your mobile phone with which the bike will be released later be parked on any part of the loan.

At this time the purchase of 50 bicycles is at tender stage and has a budget of 95,000 euros, from, in whole, of the subsidy granted to the municipality of San Javier by the Agency for Energy Management in the Region of Murcia, as reported by the council, Jesus Montesinos.

With a new investment subsidy in this case by the General Directorate of Transport, Ministry of Public Works and Planning, will be completed the 2 nd and 3 rd phase of this project will involve the creation of 6 new loan points, with 60 bikes more, to be located in different parts of the municipality and will be operational before Easter 2009.

Jesus Montesinos stressed "the important service you provide rental bicycles to both neighbors and visitors in a town like San Javier has opted for the bike and that it has 6 miles of bike lanes operational and will soon be added another 3 kilometers to be built from downtown to Los Narejos Roda where the bike path will link with the municipality of Los Alcazares, without forgetting the section that is constructed from Santiago de la Ribera to Los Narejos. "

Once these two sections may be circular bike path from Roda to Santiago de la Ribera.
