San Javier, San Pedro and Los Alcazares commemorate the 60 Anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights (13/11/2008)

The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, held on 10 December, did not go unnoticed by the residents of San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Los Alcazares.

That is the objective of the program of activities has been organized from the Social Services of the three municipalities, which this morning progressed the mayor of San Javier Pepa Garcia and the social worker Alicia Balseiro, project coordinator.

The program includes activities in each of the municipalities, such as lectures, conferences, roundtables, and other joint activities such as drawing competitions, photography and short stories, the participants will deliver social services centers of the three municipalities to November 30.

Also, in the three municipalities will be distributed in public spaces, large panels in which the slogan "Express Yourself" invites people to reflect briefly on the issue of human rights.

At the same event will receive their awards from the competitions held and will feature music from the Conservatory of San Javier.

With this initiative, which has managed to combine efforts of the three municipalities, it is intended "not to overlook such an important date and give it the importance it really has," said the Mayor has invited all to share in the celebration .

Alicia Balseiro explained that this initiative is part of the UN global campaign "Dignity and Justice for All," aims to provide a bit in spreading the message and content of the Declaration of Human Rights, which is also distributed educational materials to various professionals on how to translate the spirit of the Declaration in their daily work. "
