Benefit dinner of the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness del Mar Menor (10/12/2008)

The Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness del Mar Menor (AFEM) held on Saturday, December 13 FIRST BENEFIT DINNER FOR ASSOCIATION, to be attended by relatives, users and all those people who are interested

The dinner will begin at 21:30 pm in the Salons of the Civic Centre Prince of Asturias, located in C / Acacias s / n, Santiago de la Ribera (San Javier)

On the occasion of Christmas, the dinner will feature performances by the Choir of Santiago de la Ribera.

WHAT IS AFEM?

ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS UNDER THE SEA

Is a non-governmental social and non-profit organization created in 2008.

Whose purpose is to defend the rights of persons with mental illness and their families and claim an improvement in the quality of life for families and persons with mental illnesses in the district of Mar Menor and aims to participate in progress on Mental Health, for it aims to join forces and have greater social weight in the face of the administration, to collect all the needs identified in the Area of Mental Health, and demand resources.

While the Administration provides health and social resources intended for the treatment of people with mental illness and their families, AFEM provides a range of services to assist in improving the quality of their life.

The needs are many and varied, and the resources at our disposal are quite limited, so the association, as well as Mental Health is everyone's business.

What is the origin of AFEM?

• Association of relatives and people with mental illness del Mar Menor.

• Created in 2008 at the initiative of professionals and family

• With the aim of:

- Defend the Rights of Persons with Disease

Mental.

Promote quality of life of people with mental illness and their families.

Support and advise families on issues related to mental illness and mental health.

Claim equality of mental health to other areas of the healthcare field.

Responding to the demands from users, families and individuals interested in learning more about mental health.

Do you belong to any Federation AFEM?

Currently, AFEM, is part of:

• FEAFES-Murcia (Murcia Federation of Associations of Families and Persons with Mental Illness), established in 1998.

• FEAFES-Confederation (Confederation of Associations of Families and Persons with Mental Illness), established in 1983.

What services does AFEM?

SERVICE DIRECTED TO THE COMMUNITY

Seeks to vindicate the public administration individualized attention "bio-psycho-social", to sensitize the population to achieve integration and eliminating social stigma, and mental health promotion (healthy lifestyles and preventive behaviors)

Programs to develop:

• Awareness campaigns

• Activities Volunteer Recruitment and Training

• Community Involvement Activities

SERVICE DIRECTED TO THE FAMILY

The association aims to promote, inform, guide and train to reduce uncertainty and emotional, and support throughout the process of mental illness.

Programs to develop:

• Reception, Guidance and Information

• School Family: Psychoeducation Courses, GAM (Mutual Support Groups)

• Creating a Family Respite Service.

SERVICE DIRECTED TO PERSONS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS

Aims to inform, guide and support the person with mental illness and provide services and activities to achieve autonomy and full social integration.

Programs to develop:

• Reception, Guidance and Information

• Creating a Home Care Program

• Leisure

• Creating employment workshops

What needs AFEM?

• Having the support of public administration (regional and municipal)

• Endorsement and support for families that make up this association.

• To inform the rest of society the work of this association as a representative body of the CPSM and their families.

• Work daily to improve the quality of life of people with mental illnesses in the district of Mar Menor.
