The mayor of San Javier Pepa García announced last night in Parliament that the next call for an extraordinary plenary meeting to be held in the coming days, with only one item on the agenda referred to the case of municipal budgets for 2009 linked to a question confidence.
The mayor made the announcement after the two opposition groups, popular and independent, rejected by voting against the municipal budget for 2009 presented by the government team, as they did with the 2008 accounts, forcing the government team to work extended the previous budget.
Finance Councilman José Angel Noguera defended the budget amounting to EUR 49,753,850.94, adjusted to the current crisis with consequent reductions in revenue forecasting, and consistent with the possibilities and needs of the municipality.
Both the council and the mayor of Finance revealed in Parliament the effort from the government team to reach the widest possible consensus on the adoption of municipal accounts at various meetings have been held with both groups, and now be re-submitted to the House in next special meeting related to a matter of trust.
