The mayor of San Javier Pepa Garcia and Councilman Jose Luis Espinosa Environment have delivered this morning, contest prizes on "Historias del Mar Menor", organized by the Department of Environment within the campaign "Meet the Mar Menor" which has been developed in the Secondary Schools of the town, organized by the Department of Environment and funded by the Foundation Cluster.
The first three prizes have been captured students of IES Ruiz Alda, who through the course of Natural Science, has presented papers as he has earned the first award I have received Miriam Muñoz and María Dolores Hernández, 3 º D .
Amina Hammon, 2 º D has obtained the second prize, and Miriam Martinez and Alejandra Palacios received the third prize for a paper presented in bullet form with a child protagonist.
Both the Mayor and Councillor for Environment congratulated the awardees and thanked his cooperation, including the Professor of Natural Sciences has been with the City Council to award "for his efforts to involve students in such of initiatives. "
The contest is part of a series of activities under the campaign "Meet the Mar Menor, which is aimed at students of institutes of the municipality with the aim of raising awareness of the natural wealth of the Mar Menor, and the problems that affect biodiversity.
This has been given a series of lectures at the Institutes and practical activities.
It has also addressed the influence of conventional agriculture in the Mar Menor and possible solutions in collaboration with biosecurity, consumer associations and producers of organic farming.
It has also benefited from the Fundación Sierra Minera, to visit a mine and the bed of a watercourse to the mouth of the Mar Menor to verify the impacts of mining on the Mar Menor.
