The expansion of urban transport with a new line between San Javier Roda and extension of an existing one to San Cayetano allows for the first time, link all the town (27/01/2009)

Transport Councilman José Luis Espinosa and the manager of Coach Mary Immaculate, José Sánchez presented this morning the improvements have been made in urban transport which is the connection of the entire municipality by four bus routes with stops in all villages except La Manga connected by ferry service to Santiago de la Ribera, whose stop is planned to create an intermodal link with the rest of the municipality, as explained Espinosa.

The manager of the operating company of transport services in the municipality, Jose Sanchez explained that the line of Roda, where there was high demand for this service, will open on February 2, with the number 9, and consist of four Return expeditions, two morning and two in the afternoon, with the park stop Almansa in San Javier, which is used as an interchange with other lines, as the path matrix, line 1, which connects San Javier The Bank and City Air, continuing to San Pedro del Pinatar.

The schedule of sailings from San Javier Roda will be 9:30, 12:00, 15:30 and 18:30, and Roda San Javier will leave at 9:45, 12:15, 15:45, and 18:45 hours.

Another innovation in the municipal transport is the extension of Line 7, and between San Javier and Pozo Aledo, which is prepared to go to the new district hospital, and was extended to San Cayetano, one of the parishes that were outside the municipal urban transport.

It has also been extended with a further expedition in the afternoon, the line 4 between San Javier and El Mirador, which will now have 3-way service, 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, start-ups and which goes from Los Pinos at 15:00 pm.

Transportation Councilman José Luis Espinosa stressed that these initiatives are met "our election pledge to connect with urban transport throughout the town as there were still places that lacked this service, such as Roda has been a key objective for us."

Espinosa announced between the immediate plans of his department, in addition to controlling the quality of service, ensuring accessibility by ramps on buses for people with physical disabilities.

In this sense, has advanced to the next two taxi licenses to be convened shortly in the county, resulted in the requirement of full accessibility.

Espinosa pointed out the existence of transportation bonds, subsidized by the City and for students, retirees, and people with disabilities, which can be processed in the Local Development Agency, located in the park Almansa, which allows its holder to use the urban transport for 6 euros a year.

There are now 358 operational bonds.

The price of each journey in general is 1.10EUR.

José Luis Espinosa added that it also will enable a section where users can leave suggestions or complaints to improve service.
