The municipal library in San Javier houses from 6 to May 19 the exhibition "Africa: House of Words", with which it aims to bring Africa to the public through a sample of a didactic nature, which through a great variety of resources proposed an interactive game and an immersion in what it means to Africa, sheltered by audiovisual material, with projected videos and African sounds.
The exhibition consists of six large panels formed from the six letters that make up Africa, by way of windows lit with windows whose landscape discover something new about the continent, which are pictures, objects can touch, action figures, books and other media in an entertaining way that addresses the culture, tradition, people, geography, and other social issues from a perspective that aims to relativize biased views and prejudices that sometimes nest in the vision we have of what with which we are far away and exotic.
Sensitize the public about the true meaning of Africa, is precisely the aim of this exhibition, whose ultimate aim is to promote multiculturalism in an area with great presence of sub-Saharan immigration, through the knowledge and understanding of both the continent of origin, as the phenomenon of migration itself.
The exhibition will be guided by an instructor on Mondays and Fridays from 16:00 h.
to 20:00 h.
and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 13:30, to be attended by prior appointment, education and the public at any time.
The remaining time can be visited freely, with the same schedule.
