Nearly 300 students CEIP San Javier Severo Ochoa learned to eliminate sexist attitudes and work for equality between men and women thanks to the European project 'Social Integration: Co-education ", which closed today by the director of the Women's Institute Region (iMRM), Teresa Moreno, and developed by teachers of the school, with the participation of the College Zespol Placoweek, Poland, and the Didactic Circolo Legnago 1, Italy.
The project was developed in the Region of Murcia with the cooperation of various entities including the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration and Education.
A sample of one thousand students participated, aged between 3 and 13, and 110 teachers from three schools.
Moreno, has pledged to move the project to other schools in the community because "it's the best way to work for equal opportunities between men and women."
During the closing ceremony of the project, which was also attended by the deputy director general of Educational Development and Innovation, Yolanda Royo, and the Mayor of San Javier, Josefa García, director of iMRM congratulated the school staff "as the authentic responsible for the project has gone ahead "and encouraged them to continue with similar work.
El Colegio de San Javier Severo Ochoa has received three awards for the European project, including a national award for Master Action, which is especially important in a school where 70 percent of students from other countries.
The center also received the award in 2006 Irene, for their involvement against Gender Violence, and the Award March 8, 2007, the group noted for his work or activity in the area of Murcia for their struggle for equality between men and women.
