The school Severo Ochoa closing the Comenius program has been coordinating with two centers in Italy and Poland (18/05/2009)

The school "Severo Ochoa", San Javier has closed this morning the European Comenius program "Social Integration" coeducation, "which has been the coordinator for the past three years in a move that has benefited from the presence of representatives of the two European partners, a school in Legnano, Italy, and one of Nawa Deba, Poland.

The mayor of San Javier, Pepa García, director of the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno, and the Deputy Director of Educational Development and Innovation, Yolanda Royo, with their assistance have supported this program which has involved their respective school communities for working equal opportunities between men and women, gender violence and conflict resolution.

An exhibition of all work done by teachers and students during the three year project, and a sample of objects produced by the three centers set the closure of three years of intense work, in the words of the headmistress Severo Ochoa, Isabel Martínez, aimed as a general conclusion "the need for further work on gender equality from the school with the decisive support of families and institutions."

Once the project is analyzed and studied its findings of which will work practices, the director of the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno, has committed to extend to other schools in the region.
