Rafael Álvarez El Brujo brings to San Javier "The Gospel of John", a show in which famous actor Cordoba reemphasizes the strength and the absolute power of the word in monologue, with which closes a trilogy started with "San Francisco, minstrel of God" and "The Mysteries of Quixote, the old shared transmission techniques and storytelling.
El Brujo returns to stand alone on stage to share with the public, "a magical ceremony" as he himself has defined the show which falls within the proper scope of the minstrel, with humor, vitality and self-paced comedy, while with a strong poetic.
"The Gospel of John" that was released last July on the Roman theater in Merida, is a 120-minute monologue in which the actor dissects the mystery of the gospel of John, dated subsequent to the other three gospels recognized by the Church which tells the story of Jesus of Nazareth.
Stripped of religious overtones, El Brujo deals with the Gospel of John presents Jesus to the man "who is here and now" trying to figure out "symbolic meaning, the hidden and esoteric meaning in the future of the life of Jesus and in those events, "explained the author, who seek the complicity of the public who make the chorus.
Allusions to familiar characters, and humorous gags characterize the actor in Lucerne, is contained in a text, wrapped only four musicians, which also sheds a critical view of the Church and the Christian religion from the text of the apostle favorite Jesus of Nazareth, figure which revolves around the mystery of the gospel "written in a telegraphic, schematic and chaotic for us to say anything else," said the actor who writes, directs and plays the assembly Productions co-produced by El Brujo and National Drama Centre in collaboration with the Festival of Merida.
