The Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes Mass presided big day of festivities in San Javier and bless the street dedicated to Antonio López (03/12/2009)

The bishop of the diocese of Cartagena José Manuel Lorca Planes has blessed this morning in San Javier Avenida Pastor Antonio López Martínez, whose board has found a sister of the former parish priest of San Javier for over 25 years, accompanied by the mayor of San Javier, Pepa García.

The event has been made to coincide with the feast of St. Francis Xavier was held after the Mass presided over the Bishop in the Church of San Xavier in honor of the patron of the town, and before the traditional concert band General Academy Air in the Square of Spain.

After the blessing by the Bishop, the mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia recalled the figure of the priest born in La Ribera de Molina who came to San Javier in 1967, where he served as pastor until his retirement and he died at age 84 in March.

Pepa García recalled the "closeness, fraternity and solidarity that have always characterized to Don Antonio, a pastor who has always known to be by the people."

The mayor of San Javier also underlined "the deep love that Don Antonio was for St. Francis Xavier and how much he did to spread her figure, and the deep respect felt for the Church hierarchy, so it sure would be very happy it is in this day and with the blessing of the Bishop, when you discover the name tags "

Pepa García recalled the work done through the foundation he created "Foundation San Francisco Javier, Juan Pablo II", which has left a legacy, "as well as how much he brought to this people not only in religious but also socially, by fostering the creation of a rondalla, or a group of choruses and dances that are still active. "
