The municipal library hosted the screening of the documentary "History of San Javier through the photographs of our elders," the photographer Salvi Vivancos intercalating dozens of old photographs, contributed by the largest of the municipality and the municipal archives, testimonies of some participants in the project wanted to testify in camera.
The audience comprised a large group of mostly children from other countries.
Salvi Vivancos said that the work was done by a grant from the Ministry of Culture of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, intercultural projects, aims to "rescue the past everyday life of people through pictures and memories to do our best to get kids from other countries who now live here but has no direct memories or grandparents who add those. "
Salvi Vivancos who is also coordinator of the festival of street art "Imagine", organized by the Department of Youth of San Javier, went for several months at Senior Center San Javier, where he spoke with over 40 partners who joined the job of bringing their personal photographs and testimonies about what it was and how it has changed the people and the lifestyle of its inhabitants.
The work addresses a part of the town's history dates dispensed and focuses on sustaining the emotional story with real images that surprised both natural neighbors of San Javier as the newly added population to which it is specially directed.
Salvi Vivancos hopes to repeat the work with other countries over so they can tell the rest as was the village from which they proceed as they would their grandparents.
