A group of Roma women, accompanied by the councilman of Social Services City of San Javier, Maria Angeles Chumillas have read this morning in San Javier a manifesto to coincide with the International Roma Day that followed the live performance of the hymn " Gelem, Gelem "(" I walked, walked "), reminiscent of the Gypsy victims of Nazism.
The celebration of International Roma Day in San Javier is part of the Roma Development Plan is carried out through the Department of Social Services City of San Javier, and took place at the weekly market where it has shared booth the city library.
Throughout the morning the Roma women have dealt with flag pins and brochures on Roma history and present of the Roma people.
The celebration ends this afternoon with a session of video forums.
The Roma Development Plan will be held throughout the year, with the collaboration of the FSG and funded by the Instituto Murciano Social Action.
Within this Plan has entered into a Basic Social Skills course in the eight women who participated and a Bulgarian Roma yesterday received their diplomas after the end of the course which consisted of 88 hours.
Plan the next activity will be held from 17 to 28 May in the town library with educational exhibits on Gypsy Culture.
